How to Store Fresh Herbs in Fridge

Wrap the tops of these herbs in a loose plastic bag and refrigerate. The door is an ideal location for them because it is the warmest portion of the refrigerator.

 

If you prefer not to use plastic in your kitchen, another effective option for storing herbs is to wrap them in a moist kitchen towel and place them in the crisper without the plastic bag. Every couple of days, check to ensure the towel hasn’t dried out.

 

Additionally, fresh herbs can be cut or the leaves removed from the stems and placed in an ice cube pan. Combine with water and freeze. When needed, just pop out and defrost the desired amount, or simply add the cubes whole to dishes such as soups, stews, and sauces.
